Total exports up 11%
August 14, 2014The volume of Hong Kong’s total goods exports grew 10.9% year-on-year in June, while that of goods imports rose 6.4%.
The Census & Statistics Department said the volume of goods re-exports increased 10.9% year-on-year, while that of domestic exports grew 8.7%.
For the first half of the year as a whole, the volume of goods re-exports increased 1.9% year-on-year, while that of domestic exports rose 7.9%.
Taken together, the volume of total goods exports increased 2%. The volume of goods imports increased 2.4%.
For the second quarter, the volume of total goods exports increased 3.7% quarter-on-quarter. Within this total, the volume of re-exports increased 3.7%, while that of domestic exports increased 2.4%. The volume of goods imports rose 1.6% in the quarter.
The prices of goods re-exports grew 2%, while those of domestic exports increased 1.4%.
Taken together, the prices of total goods exports rose 2%. The prices of goods imports increased 2.5%.
In the first half of the year, the prices of goods re-exports grew 1.8%, while those of domestic exports fell 0.5%.
Taken together, the prices of total goods exports increased 1.8%. The prices of goods imports grew 2.1%.
